What is document workflow automation?
Document workflow automation is software that carries a document through every step it needs — created or converted, data extracted, approved, and filed — without a person doing each step by hand. In ASHDOCS Flows you describe the workflow in one sentence, AI drafts the steps in plain language, and the flow runs on your schedule: every bank statement becomes rows in a Google Sheet, or every morning a web page is saved as a branded PDF into Drive.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You describe the outcome in a sentence — "every morning, save this page as a PDF and watermark it DRAFT" — and the assistant drafts the flow as a plain step list. You review each step in ordinary language and press Run when you're happy. Nothing runs until you do.
What does a flow cost to run?
Each step that does document work uses the same published credits as the tool it runs — and failed runs are never charged. Sandbox runs are completely free, forever, so you can test a flow end-to-end before it touches your credits. AI-drafted builds use 1 credit per successful draft.
Does this replace Make, Zapier or n8n?
No — and it isn't trying to. Flows handles the document work: converting, extracting, watermarking, filing. If you already orchestrate in Make, Zapier or n8n, keep doing that and call ASHDOCS from an HTTP module — we ship ready-made modules and recipes for all three. Flows is for the automations that are entirely about documents.
How do connections work?
Two ways, both one screen. Sign in with Google — no API keys, no developer console — and Drive, Sheets and Gmail steps light up. For the other apps (Airtable, Stripe, Notion, Trello, Twilio, Mailchimp and 20+ more) you paste a key from that app; ASHDOCS validates it live against the provider before saving, and every app has its own step-by-step setup guide. You can disconnect any time from the Connections page.
What happens when a run fails?
The run view shows what went wrong in plain language with a hint, you fix the step, and resume from where it stopped — you're never charged for failed runs. Scheduled flows can also email you: one instant alert when a flow starts failing (never more than one per flow per hour) and a 7am digest on days something ran.
